Showers are a crucial part of our modern lives but just spare a moment to consider the ups and downs of a traditional showering set-up. There is the shower valve built into the wall, the shower tray, the tiles on the wall, the seal between the tiles and tray the shower screen - does it fit properly and does it leak? How do you fix it if anything goes wrong? The tray is stood on the floor and when the floor joists shrink with time, hey presto, a gap appears between tray and tiles and the shower leaks.

Compare this to a purpose-made shower cubical that is free standing and connected to water and drain with flexible pipes similar to a washing machine.
